Greek Presidency successfully completes the 15th BEREC Plenary 

Athens, June 11, 2013

The 15 th Plenary Session of the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) was successfully completed in Athens on 6 and 7 June 2013, under the chairmanship of Dr. Leonidas Kanellos, EETT President and BEREC Chair. The Plenary approved for publication the Termination Rates Snapshot Report and the BEREC Annual Report for 2012. The Plenary also elected Göran Marby, Director-General of the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS), as BEREC Chair for the 2014, a year that Dr. Kanellos will serve as BEREC Vice Chair. During the previous day, delegates from 36 countries, BEREC members and observers, participated in a workshop focusing upon new regulatory challenges in relation to the NGAs. Discussion topics addressed pricing schemes, competition issues and state aid and the utilization of vectoring technology for the increase of the speed of broadband networks.
